Welcome to Sosbro Guitar Co! I’m Ben, my passion for music, musical instruments and craftsmanship has been a lifelong journey. I started playing and fixing guitars and electrics when I was just nine years old, and by sixteen, I was on the road playing music in a band with my brother. Over the years, I’ve worked with some incredible musicians, including those who went on to tour with Rizzle Kicks, Taio Cruz, and Mark Ronson etc.
In the late 90’s and early 00’s, I worked for M.A.D (Music & Audio Distribution), a UK-based musical instrument distributor representing brands like Warwick Basses and Amps, Framus Guitars, BC Rich Guitars, Pignose Amps and SIT Strings. I collaborated with both artists, retailers, and helped customising instruments and set up and repair guitars.
Over that time I built a collection of over 30+ instruments. Eventually, I consolidated my collection into a curated selection of higher-quality vintage and reissue pieces.
After years of playing, fixing, upgrading, buying, and selling guitars, amps, and pedals, I decided to leave the corporate world behind to follow my true passion.
At Sosbro Guitar Co, I offer basic guitar repairs and maintenance, upgrades, buying, trading, and sourcing services.

Guitar Repairs and Maintenance
Professional Re-String
Remove old strings, clean fretboard, clean fretwire/polish frets, revitalise and nourish fretboard using high quality products, re-string and tune.
Guitar £25 including new set of strings.
Bass Guitar £40 including new set of Strings.
Set-Ups
Assessing and logging guitar’s existing setup measurements, making necessary adjustments, remove old strings, clean fretboard, clean fretwire/polish frets, revitalise and nourish fretboard using high quality products, re-string, tune, check intonation, clean volume/tone pots/switches, polish guitar and record the guitars post setup measurements.
Acoustic Guitars: £40 including new set of strings. (Please note that the acoustic guitar setup will not include intonation adjustments or cleaning pots/switches).
Electric Guitars: £50 including new set of strings.
Bass Guitar £65 including new set of Strings.
+£10 for application of darkening wax for open grain wood necks.
Minor Repairs
Broken jack sockets, noisy pots, replacing pickups, replacing noisy/broken switches etc.
Other minor repairs undertaken.

Play It Forward Initiative (PIFI)
I’ve always loved the idea of ‘paying it forward’ – those feel-good stories where someone steps in to help out, no fuss, no spotlight, just doing a good thing because they can and are able to. Now that I run my own guitar and bass repair business, I figured it’s time I stepped up and did my bit too.
That’s how the Play It Forward Initiative (PIFI) was born.
Here’s the deal: loads of people have guitars or basses lying around either broken, neglected, tucked away in cupboards or lofts. Most of them just need a bit of love (and a guitar repair man). Instead of gathering dust, those instruments could be fixed up and passed on to a child or someone who really wants to learn / play but doesn’t have the means to get one!
If you’ve got a guitar, bass or amp you’re not using, I’ll do my best to bring it back to life and get it into the hands of someone who’ll truly appreciate it. Alternatively contact me as you can also help out by sponsoring someone for lessons if that’s more your jam.
