Epiphone Les Paul 1960 Tribute Plus Translucent Black 2016 with Gibson ’57 classic humbuckers

Description:

The Les Paul is an iconic guitar used by many guitar heroes over the years. This guitar is a great example of the beautiful, expertly constructed, best of the Epiphone Les Paul range.  This guitar was made in China in 2016 and is in good condition.

The Epiphone Les Paul 1960 Tribute Plus honours Epiphone’s friendship with innovator Les Paul by combining his classic design features with legendary Epiphone quality and value with the added feature of Gibson USA ’57 classic humbuckers, series parallel switching, a 1960’s Slim-Taper neck profile, a Locktone Stopbar/Tune-o-matic tailpiece and bridge and Grover Rotomatic machine heads.

The guitar is in good condition for a rock machine properly enjoyed since it was built! 

The guitar has a slight indent on the back of the neck bass side, around the third fret, it also has a minor lacquer crack by the nut treble side (less than 2cm); these are minor, and do not affect the playability/neck stability in any way.  The guitar has some small areas on the body where there are some surface only marks / playing scratches, these are barely visible and mostly only visible moving the guitar in and out of direct light.  As would be expected some of the hardware has started to naturally age, again hardly visible and some people pay extra for this from the Gibson Murphy Lab! Please note that these are purely cosmetic and barely noticeable to the naked eye. I have tried to photograph and video to show all of the above mentioned to provide reassurance.

It has had a full setup, making various small adjustments to lower the action and make the guitar sing, this included a fretboard condition, and re-strung with a new set of D’Addario nickel wound XL strings (9-46) gauge.

This guitar comes with a Rocktile oversized gig bag.

I can assure you if this becomes your new axe, you will not be disappointed and the envy or many!

Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul Standard 1959 Reissue R9 – Cherry Sunburst (2005)

If you know, then you know! R9’s are simply incredible and the closest thing you are going to get to an original Gibson 1959 Les Paul without many, many more £00,000’s.  The Les Paul is an iconic guitar used by many guitar heroes over the years.

This Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul ’59 Reissue displays a highly figured flamed maple top with loads of movement in different light, a beautiful mahogany back and neck as well as a rosewood fret board. It is in lovely condition for a guitar over 20 years old. The hardware is ageing beautifully and has light tarnishing to most the metal parts. It weighs a comfortable 4kg / 8.8 lbs and comes with the original Certificate of Authenticity (COA) and original Lifton reissue case.

It has had a full setup, making various small adjustments to lower the action and make the guitar sing, this included a fretboard condition, and it’s been re-strung with a new set of D’Addario nickel wound XL strings (10-46) gauge.

Warwick Streamer Stage 1 Custom – Late 90’s – Black High Gloss with real Ganja leaf and ebony fingerboard!

Warwick Custom ‘Ganja Bass’ 4 string – German made in the late 90’s. This bass was ordered from Warwick Germany as a standard streamer stage one 4 string bass with an ebony fingerboard then sent to Martin Sims, (Sims Custom Shop) who painted it black, put a real ganja leaf inside the lacquer and made custom leaf inlays with green LEDs.

This bass was made around the time when Martin Sims was making some incredible basses for Stuart Zender who was playing with Jamiroquai at that time. This bass was made for the artist endorsement person who was with the UK distributor of Warwick at that time. The bass has great back story as is truly a ‘one off’.

To my knowledge no-one else has managed to place a real leaf inside the lacquer of an instrument! This bass comes with the genuine Warwick flight case cut escpecially for a Warwick Streamer bass.

Condition: Used. The bass has some marks (all shown in pics) as you would expect from a bass enjoyed for over 24 years!!

Marshall Lead 12 – (Model: 5005 – Year: 1990). Sympathetically modified to allow for an external cab to be connected.

The legendary Marshall Lead 12 is a phenomenal little beast. It was styled like its JCM800 series brother’s & sisters, and packs both nice clean sounds together with that iconic Marshall Lead sound!

This amp has been sympathetically modified so that you can switch between the internal speaker or plug in an external cab. This mod can be easily reversed with no damage to the unit.

The Marshall Lead 12 has become sought after as ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons admitted it was one of his favourite amps for studio tones and he used this on the Recycler album, these have built up a cult status in recent years. They have a very close tone to a Marshall JTM/JCM.

It’s a perfect amp for direct or low volume recording, playing in the bedroom or even for live sets.

You have tone for days, everything from a slight clip to full on overdrive.

Please note that when connecting an external speaker, the external speaker cabinet should match the Impedance of the internal speaker in order to avoid any issues. In this instance that is 8ohms.  Whilst it may be possible to use an external speaker cabinet ‘one step down’, this we understand will make the amp run hot, and will eventually make the amp overheat and ultimately fail, causing irreparable damage to parts.

This upgrade will not only provide you with improved ability to control your sound with better, custom spec quality pots, but you will also hear and feel the difference in your guitars amplified sound. This is the ideal way to improve and get the very best out of your guitar.

Most production guitars have been built using reasonable quality components (and in some cases inferior, cheap components) but if you want to get the very best out of your guitar, surely then manufacturers should be using the best quality parts available on the market. Upgrading your guitars electronics is a cost-effective way of vastly improving your guitar’s sound and ability to shape your tone.  

1950s Les Paul wiring differs from modern wiring primarily in how the tone pots are connected to the volume pots. In 50s wiring, the tone pots are connected to the output of the volume pots, whereas in modern wiring, they are connected to the input of the volume pots. This difference impacts the interaction between the volume and tone controls, affecting the overall tone and how it changes when the volume is rolled back. 1950’s wiring will give you a brighter, more dynamic tone and more interactive controls.

This upgrade has been built using very high-quality components.

These US pots have been made to custom specs for a high-end guitar parts supplier in the UK.  They feature a solid brass thread and shaft on a Bakelite base plate with a lower turning torque for the right balance between a smoother response and some resistance.

Epiphone Les Paul ES Hollow Body in Cherry Sunburst 2001 Made in Unsung Factory Korea.

These Korean Les Paul ES guitars made in the Unsung factory in Korea are not easy to come by, especially in this condition, and with this beautiful highly flamed maple veneer top, (stop reading and have another look at that flame top!).

This guitar was built over 24 years ago however, it looks like it has hardly been played! It’s been extremely well looked after.

It has recently had a full setup, making various small adjustments to lower the action and make the guitar sing, this included a fretboard condition, pots (with one pot replaced), switch being cleaned, re-strung with a new set of D’Addario nickel wound XL strings (9-46) gauge.

The Les Paul is an iconic guitar used by many guitar heroes over the years. This guitar is a perfect example of the beautiful, expertly constructed, best of the Epiphone Les Paul range. This guitar was made in Qingdao factory in February 2016 and is in good condition.

The Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro’s name speaks for itself: the “pro” indicates not only its awesome quality for the price, but the fact that this guitar features Epiphone’s ProBucker pickups with coil-tapping to give you sparkle and spank where there may have been none before. The volume controls have a push-pull function that engages coil splitting for the corresponding pickup, and the neck pickup tone control’s push-pull feature functions as a phase switch.

The guitar is in good condition for a rock machine properly enjoyed since it was built!

The guitar has a bit of playing wear on the frets between the 1st and 5th frets on the G & B strings, (only noticeable with the strings off) and has some small areas on the body where there is some surface only buckle marks / playing scratches, these are barely visible. There is one very minor ding between both tone pots. All this is shown in the pics and video. The black jack socket plate is cracked but was not worth replacing as its fully functional and solid. As would be expected some of the binding and gold hardware has started to naturally age, again hardly visible and some people pay extra for this from the Gibson Murphy Lab! Please note that these are purely cosmetic and barely noticeable to the naked eye.

Danelectro DC12 – 12 String Guitar Black with Cream body sides – c.1998 with gig bag

Description:
Around 1954 Nathan Daniel founder of Danelectro guitars, started to introduce a line of electric guitars. His designs were simple, inexpensive, unique, quirky but very cool, and they included the aesthetically brilliant, excellent sounding lipstick pickups. By the late 60’s Daniel was looking to slow down, and he later sold Danelectro to MCA, staying on for a while as Danelectro’s president. In the 1990’s Steve Ridinger of the Evets Corporation acquired the Danelectro brand. They initially just wanted to concentrate on effects pedals however by request, they started bringing out some guitar reissues. The reissues started around 1998.

This guitar built in Korea, we believe it was from the first production of the DC 12 guitars, built between 1998 and 2002. These I have been informed by Danelectro collectors to be argued as the best era of reissue guitars!

Many great players have enjoyed the different sounds you can get from these guitars, and you should definitely check out the clip on YouTube where Jimmy Page, using his Danelectro DC-2, shows Jack White & Edge how he came up with the Kashmir chords (link: https://youtu.be/ODidAgdL40Y).

The guitar is in good overall condition for an instrument enjoyed since it was built! The guitar has no visible dents or dings on the front or back however on the side of the guitar it has some areas with marks (on the cream areas), these are shown in the pics and video. Please note that these are purely cosmetic. The volume and tone pots are slightly scratchy, but these are only scratchy when the controls are being operated, and not whilst the guitar is being played.

The guitar has been recently had a setup, making various small adjustments to lower the action and to make the guitar sing, this included a fretboard condition, and being re-strung with a new set of D’Addario nickel wound XL strings (10-46) gauge.

Epiphone Les Paul Standard in Cherry Sunburst 2005.

The Les Paul is an iconic guitar used by many guitar heroes over the years. This is a lovely example of the beautiful, expertly constructed, Epiphone Les Paul, made in 2005. This guitar was made in Qingdao (elektrisch) factory in China during May 2005, and has been well looked after, a real case queen.

It has been recently had a full setup, making various small adjustments to lower the action and make the guitar sing, this included a fretboard condition, pots & switch being cleaned, re-strung with a new set of D’Addario nickel wound XL strings (9-46) gauge.

The guitar remains in great overall condition with loads of life left in the frets, the only thing to note is that the guitar took a small knock to the front top side which has now been sympathetically filled and polished however it is still slightly visible. This is purely cosmetic and doesn’t affect the playability or sound in any way. I have shown this in the pictures and videos, and this chip repair is barely noticeable and smooth to the touch.

The guitar has been well looked after and is brilliant condition for a guitar built over 20 years ago!

I can assure you if this becomes your new axe, you will not be disappointed!

Fender USA Stratocaster 1987 in Olympic White Maple Fingerboard – Rare EE Serial No.

This is an iconic, beautifully balanced, easy to play, great sounding guitar played by the greats such a Hendrix, Clapton, Gilmore etc.

In 1985 CBS sold Fender to a group of Fender employees backed by private investors, and they opened the flagship US factory and headquarters in Corona, California. This guitar was made in the US in 1987 (CTS pots dated), in the Corona factory, and it was made for the export market, hence the EE serial number. The EE serial numbered models are quite sort after, as rumour has it that Custom shop parts were used in the production of these models, and the EE serial number models are well known for their exceptional build quality.

This beautiful example has mojo oozing out of it! This is a vintage guitar now aged 38, and like a good wine, it is only getting better in time.

These guitars are not so easy to date however the year of production has been verified by the dating of the CTS pots (as shown in the pics).

The guitar has a lovely feeling neck, easy to play and the fingerboard is in excellent shape with plenty of life left in the frets. The action is low and the guitar has been recently had a full setup, to make the guitar sing, and been re-strung with a new set of D’Addario nickel wound XL strings (9-46) gauge. The TBX tone control had a slight crackle when being turned however this has been almost entirely eliminated with some switch cleaner and is now hardly noticeable and was not worthwhile replacing.

The guitar has been played and enjoyed and bears the marks typical of a guitar of its age, (all shown in the pictures).

It comes with its original Fender case.
