The Les Paul is an iconic guitar used by many guitar heroes over the years, and this 2014 Standard Pro in Honey Burst is a delightful example of these great guitars. Built in September 2014 at the highly regarded Qingdao factory in China, this instrument features a sweet Honey Burst finish that is delightfully complemented by a beautiful, naturally dark fingerboard.

Under the hood, this guitar has been thoughtfully transformed. It is loaded with a pair of USA-designed Epiphone Alnico Classic PRO pickups. To take full advantage of these, the electronics have been completely overhauled with high-grade CTS pots, Sprague Orange Drop capacitors (SBE225P100v), and vintage cloth push-back wire. As a final touch, the previous owner upgraded the tuners with Deluxe Kluson-style traditional tuners.

The harness has been wired to authentic 1950’s style specifications. Unlike standard modern wiring that can get muddy and lose its treble when you turn down the volume, ’50s wiring acts as a natural treble bleed, keeping your tone crisp and clear even at lower volumes. Because the volume and tone knobs dynamically “talk” to each other in this circuit, you can easily roll the volume down for sparkly, articulate rhythm parts, and then just turn it right back up for a full, bright solo boost.

Condition-wise, this guitar is in damn near perfect condition. I genuinely can’t find a single bump or ding anywhere on it; it looks like it just left the factory. There is some extremely minor, natural oxidation starting to show on the bridge posts, but other than that, it is immaculate. In my humble opinion, the thoughtful upgrades have elevated this guitar far beyond its original factory specs.

As with all instruments that pass through my hands, this guitar has just undergone a thorough professional refurbishment to ensure it arrives studio and stage ready. I have cleaned all the hardware, conditioned the fretboard, and cleaned and tested all the pots and switches. It has been restrung with a fresh set of D’Addario XL Nickel Wound strings (9-42 gauge) and given a full workshop setup in the Sosbro Guitar Co. workshop, dialed in with a comfortable medium action that makes it an absolute joy to play.

The Les Paul is an iconic guitar used by many guitar heroes over the years, and this Epiphone Les Paul Standard 2009 Plain Top in Honey Burst does not disappoint. This particular example was made in September 2009 at the renowned Qingdao factory in China. To me, this guitar gives off the legendary “Bernice” Les Paul guitar, Gary Rossington’s (Lynyrd Skynyrd) ’59, vibes.

Under the hood, this guitar has been subtly but thoughtfully improved. The previous owner upgraded the tuners to Deluxe Kluson-style tuners and completely overhauled the electronics, installing high-grade CTS pots, braided shielded push-back wire, and Sprague Orange Pacer (NOS) 192P Capacitors.

Crucially, the harness has been wired to authentic 1950’s style specifications. Condition-wise, the guitar is in near perfect condition other than a very small mark on the rear back curve, (really not all that noticeable but shown in the videos and pictures). The previous owner also appeared to somehow make some minor scratches on the front of the headstock. I have polished the headstock areas in the Sosbro Guitar Co. workshop, and these minor scratches are now mainly only noticeable under direct lighting. Other than that, it just shows the normal, very light swirl marks of a guitar built 16 years ago that has been well looked after but very much enjoyed. All of these have been shown as clearly as possible in the pictures and video, highlighted under direct workshop lighting.

The Les Paul is an iconic guitar used by many guitar heroes over the years, and who doesn’t love a Les Paul Custom in classic ebony? It’s a guitar worthy of being in absolutely everyone’s arsenal. This particular example is an absolute gem, built in January 2005 at the highly respected Unsung factory in Korea.

Korean-made Epiphones from the Unsung plant (typically identified by the “U” prefix in the serial number) are often considered part of the “golden era” of Epiphone manufacturing. These guitars are widely respected for their build quality, consistency and craftsmanship, with many players praising their resonance, feel and overall reliability. Over the years, they have developed a strong reputation as serious value instruments that, when properly set up, can comfortably rival far more expensive modern Gibsons in both playability and tone.

What truly elevates this Custom from a great guitar to a spectacular one is what’s under the hood. It has been fitted by the previous owner with a premium set of Seymour Duncan ’59 (SH-1) humbuckers. These top-tier pickups alone would set you back over £250+!! Designed in the spirit of the original 1950s P.A.F. humbuckers and wound on Seymour’s classic Leesona 102 machine from the old Gibson factory, they deliver tons of old-school tonal character. They give the guitar a warm, full sound with a sweet, bright top end and clear attack. Whether you are pushing heavy classic rock riffs or rolling back for smooth blues, these pickups make the guitar sound absolutely massive.

A guitar of this age (now over 21 years old) is rarely seen in this kind of shape. It is in near-perfect condition. Other than one small chip/dent on the lower horn, I can’t find anything else to note. It only shows the usual, very light surface swirl marks of a guitar that has been well looked after but very much enjoyed. All of these have been shown as clearly as possible in the pictures and video, highlighted under direct workshop lighting.

As with all instruments that pass through my hands, this guitar has had a full professional setup in the Sosbro Guitar Co. workshop. This includes a deep clean of all parts, fretboard conditioning, and a thorough cleaning of all pots and switches to ensure 100% reliability. It has been restrung with a fresh set of D’Addario XL Nickel Wound strings (9–42 gauge) and plays beautifully with a comfortable low action.

The renowned build quality of the Unsung factory combined with the massive Seymour Duncan tonal upgrade makes this guitar a total powerhouse. I can assure you, if this becomes your new axe, you will not be disappointed!

The Les Paul is an iconic guitar used by many guitar heroes over the years, and this Limited Edition 2014 Honey Burst is an absolutely exceptional, heavily upgraded example.

This guitar started its life as a Limited Edition Epiphone Custom Shop Les Paul Pro, built in November 2014 at the Qingdao factory in China. It was clearly someone’s very special piece, and it’s surprising the former owner let this go, a decision I am sure they have lived to regret!

It is a visually stunning instrument, sporting a beautiful AAA flame top, but it’s not just a beauty to look at, it feels and sounds every bit as good. This is one of those guitars that, once you start playing, you simply do not want to put down.

What truly sets this guitar apart from the pack is what is under the hood; it has been professionally transformed into a true tone monster. It is fitted with a premium set of Seymour Duncan Whole Lotta™ Humbuckers. Born from Seymour’s time winding custom pickups in London during the classic British rock era, these humbuckers are designed to sound massive. They push your amp beautifully, adding incredible warmth, balance, and a highly musical natural compression and sustain to your sound. These pickups were hand built in Santa Barbara, Southern California, USA and these alone would set you back over £250!

To take full advantage of these top-tier pickups, the wiring harness has also been fully upgraded to the legendary Jimmy Page wiring scheme, utilizing premium Orange Drop Capacitors. The sheer amount of tonal versatility this setup provides is absolutely staggering.

Condition-wise, this guitar is in near-perfect condition. There is some light, natural oxidation starting to present on the pickup poles and surround screws. This does not affect the sound in any way and honestly just adds a fantastic touch of natural mojo to the instrument. Other than that, it just shows the normal, very light swirl marks of a guitar that has been well looked after but very much enjoyed. All of these have been shown as clearly as possible in the pictures and video, highlighted under direct workshop lighting.

As with all instruments that pass through my hands, this guitar has had a full professional setup in the Sosbro Guitar Co. workshop. This includes a deep clean of all parts, fretboard conditioning, and a thorough cleaning of all pots and switches. It has been restrung with a fresh set of D’Addario XL Nickel Wound strings (9–42 gauge) and plays beautifully with a comfortable low action.

I can assure you, if this becomes your new axe, you will not be disappointed!

No gig bag or hard case is included in the price, but as a specialist reseller, I have various suitable options available separately. The Les Paul is an iconic guitar used by many guitar heroes over the years, and for me, this plain top Faded Cherry Sunburst absolutely screams of the glorious, lost-in-the-Bermuda-Triangle Clapton ‘Beano’ Les Paul. This particular example was built in June 2019 at the renowned Qingdao factory in China.

This guitar has clearly been used and enjoyed, and it possesses that unmistakable, comfortable feel of a true ‘go-to’ instrument. It’s not a case queen that has been locked away under the bed, but rather a clean, honest example with real natural mojo that is ready to be played at any given opportunity.

Overall, the guitar is in good condition with loads of life left in the frets. As is typical for an instrument built over 7 years ago that has actually seen action, it had picked up some knocks and dents over the years. I believe in total transparency with my stock and listings, so please note that most of these have now been sympathetically filled and polished in the Sosbro Guitar Co. workshop. This was done for cosmetic purposes and to ensure the dents no longer chip away or degrade further over time. The main areas of repair are on the bottom edge between the jack socket and the strap pin, and on the side of the body where your arm naturally rests. These areas are now completely smooth to the touch and only slightly visible.

Alongside this, it has the usual minor, light play marks and surface scratches. I have shown these in the pictures and videos, though please note they are exaggerated in the photos as they are highlighted under direct workshop lighting. To the naked eye, they are not particularly noticeable and are purely cosmetic. It has clearly been looked after and remains in very good shape.

As with all instruments that pass through my hands, this guitar has just undergone a thorough professional refurbishment to ensure it arrives stage ready. I have deep cleaned all the hardware, conditioned the fretboard, and cleaned and tested all the pots and switches. It has been restrung with a fresh set of D’Addario XL Nickel Wound strings (9-42 gauge) and given a full workshop setup, dialed in with a comfortable medium/low action that makes it an absolute joy to play.

I can assure you, if this becomes your new axe, you will not be disappointed!

Epiphone Les Paul Standard Pro Trans Blue Burst (2017) with Coil-Splitting – SOLD

The Les Paul is an iconic guitar used by many guitar heroes over the years, and this 2017 Standard Pro in Trans Blue Burst is quite a looker. This particular example was built in July 2017 at the Qingdao factory in China, a facility that has proven itself time and again when it comes to delivering modern build quality and excellent structural reliability.

It seems a bit like the No. 10 bus, you wait ages for one, and then two come along at once! The last Epiphone Les Paul Standard Pro Trans Blue Burst I had available a few weeks back sold within just 3 days, so don’t miss out on this absolute beast of a guitar.

Under the hood, this “Pro” model is packed with top-tier factory features. It comes equipped with Epiphone’s USA-designed ProBucker pickups, featuring a vintage PAF-voiced ProBucker-2 in the neck and a slightly hotter ProBucker-3 in the bridge, both loaded with Alnico II magnets for that warm, rich, and articulate classic rock bite. For ultimate tonal versatility, the electronics feature a standard 3-way toggle switch paired with full-size controls, including two volume knobs equipped with push/pull coil-splitting. This allows you to instantly drop each humbucker into a single-coil sound on the fly, giving you everything from thick, heavy humbucker crunch to snappy, Strat-like clarity.

Overall, the guitar is in great condition, showing only the usual very light surface swirls visible under direct lighting. However, I believe in total transparency with all my instruments, so please note the following:

• Repaired Ding: This guitar had a sizable ding (about 2cm) on the back. This has now been sympathetically repaired in the Sosbro Guitar Co. workshop. Although it can still be seen under direct light, it is now completely smooth to the touch and is really not all that noticeable, especially as it is located on the back of the guitar.
• Lacquer Cracks: Whilst preparing the guitar for sale, it was noticed that the guitar has two very minor, surface-only lacquer cracks by the nut (the larger being less than 4cm and the other about 1cm). I have checked this area thoroughly with a UV light and I am very confident that this is a minor lacquer defect that does not affect the playability or neck stability in any way. You can only feel it by running your nail over the area, and most people would miss it entirely. I have tried to photograph and video this as clearly as possible to provide reassurance.  I am so confident with this not being a structural issue that, whilst I do not normally offer guarantees, in this instance, should the guitar neck fail in this specific area only, I will accept a return and provide a full refund up to 6 months from the date of purchase. (Note: This is subject to the guitar being returned to me with no signs of misuse; it must be in the exact same condition as when it was purchased, other than the mentioned area failing, with no signs of further damage).

The Les Paul is an iconic guitar used by many guitar heroes over the years, and this 2019 Les Paul Classic in sleek ebony black is a phenomenal example from Epiphone’s highly acclaimed Modern Collection. Built in October 2019 at the Qingdao factory, this guitar perfectly bridges the gap between classic late 50’s aesthetics and modern tonal flexibility. It also features the highly sought after Kalamazoo style headstock, which closely mirrors the historic Gibson open book shape and gives this instrument a seriously premium presence on stage or on the wall.

Under the hood, this Classic is an absolute Swiss Army knife of tone. It comes equipped with a pair of open-coil “zebra” (black and cream) Alnico Classic PRO™ humbuckers, designed by Epiphone USA to deliver that authentic, rich, vintage PAF punch. What really sets this model apart, however, is its modern wiring harness. Paired with factory CTS electronics, the guitar features two push/pull volume pots for individual coil-splitting, instantly turning those beefy humbuckers into snappy single-coils and a push/pull tone pot for phase switching. Whether you want thick classic rock crunch, funky single-coil bite, or that famous out-of-phase Peter Green honk, this guitar does it all. It also comes factory fitted with premium Grover® Rotomatic machine heads to ensure rock-solid tuning stability and reliability.

Condition wise, this guitar is in near perfect condition and has clearly been incredibly well looked after. It is a beautifully clean example, showing only some hardly noticeable light surface scratches on the back from typical belt contact, and a few minor marks down by the jack socket. These are the kind of light surface marks you can really only see when you actively highlight them under direct lighting.

As with all instruments that pass through my hands, this guitar has just undergone a thorough professional refurbishment in the Sosbro Guitar Co. workshop to ensure it arrives stage ready. I have cleaned all the hardware, conditioned the fretboard, and cleaned and tested all the pots and switches. It has been restrung with a fresh set of D’Addario XL Nickel Wound strings (9-42 gauge) and given a full workshop setup, dialed in with a comfortable medium action that makes it a joy to play. It has that unmistakable, resonant Les Paul sustain and a neck profile that just sits perfectly in the hand.

Epiphone Les Paul Standard Pro Trans Blue Burst (2017) with Coil-Splitting

The Les Paul is an iconic guitar used by many guitar heroes over the years, and this 2017 Standard Pro in Trans Blue Burst is quite a looker. This particular example was built in November 2017 at the Qingdao factory in China, a facility that has proven itself time and again when it comes to delivering modern build quality and excellent structural reliability.

People in the guitar industry often talk about “case queens”, instruments that have spent their whole lives stored away in a hard case, remaining in pristine condition but unseen, and mostly unplayed. I’d call this one a “wall queen”. The previous owner clearly knew this guitar was way too pretty to be locked away. It’s a bit like having Margot Robbie as your woman but keeping her locked in the house because you’re worried she might trip over and ugly herself up outside. I digress (sorry!), but my point is, this beautiful guitar was clearly kept pride of place on a wall display, likely near a window, to be admired.

Because it was treated as someone’s prized display piece, the guitar is extremely clean and tidy. Despite my best efforts, I can’t find a single knock or dent on it. However, because it has been sat out, on display, the translucent blue finish has naturally started to slightly deepen over time and there are a few areas, under and around the pickups, bridge, and tailpiece where the UV rays naturally didn’t hit, leaving the original lighter shading underneath. It is hardly noticeable to the naked eye, but it adds an incredible sense of natural charm and individual character to the instrument. To match that vibe, the nickel hardware has started to naturally age with a slight, beautiful misting effect. Otherwise, it just shows the normal, very light surface swirling that is only visible when highlighted under direct lighting.

Under the hood, this “Pro” model is packed with top-tier factory features. It comes equipped with Epiphone’s USA-designed ProBucker pickups, featuring a vintage PAF-voiced ProBucker-2 in the neck and a slightly hotter ProBucker-3 in the bridge, both loaded with Alnico II magnets for that warm, rich, and articulate classic rock bite. For ultimate tonal versatility, the electronics feature a standard 3-way toggle switch paired with full-size controls, including two volume knobs equipped with push/pull coil-splitting. This allows you to instantly drop each humbucker into a single-coil sound on the fly, giving you everything from thick, heavy humbucker crunch to snappy, Strat-like clarity.

Epiphone Les Paul Standard Tobacco Burst (2004)

Description

The Les Paul is an iconic guitar used by many guitar heroes over the years, and this 2004 Standard in Tobacco Burst is a rock-solid example of why these mid-2000s models are so highly regarded as dependable workhorses. This particular guitar was built in December 2004 at the DaeWon factory. Within the guitar community, “DW” models are often highly praised for their heavy, resonant wood choices and exceptional sustain, making them a favourite for players who want that classic, Les Paul feel, sound, resonance and look.

Now over 22 years old, it’s fair to say this guitar has “lived a life.” It isn’t a case queen, it’s a guitar that has been played and enjoyed, and it wears that history with a lot of character. Naturally, it has picked up some knocks, scrapes, and bruises along the way. Most of these are very minor surface scratches that are primarily visible under direct lighting, and notably, the front of the guitar remains in very clean shape with no visible marks or dents.

I want to be totally transparent regarding the condition: when this guitar reached the Sosbro Guitar Co. workshop, it had two “gnarly” looking dents. To ensure these didn’t develop further or lead to more lacquer loss, I have undertaken cosmetic repairs to stabilize them. They are now filled and are smooth to the touch. While they remain visible, they have no impact on the structural integrity or the way the guitar feels against you while playing. I have highlighted these clearly in the photos and videos (with before and after pics).

Despite its journey, the guitar is in generally very good shape for a guitar of its age. It feels very comfortable in the hand and has that “broken-in” feel that only comes with age. The guitar has undergone a full professional refurbishment to ensure it’s stage-ready, which includes a fresh set of D’Addario XL Nickel Wound strings (9-42 gauge) and a setup with a comfortable medium/low action that makes it a joy to play. Additionally, all hardware has been deep-cleaned, the fretboard conditioned, and all pots and switches have been cleaned.

If you are looking for a pristine, ‘out of the box’ brand-new instrument, this may not be the one for you. But if you want a mature, well-built Les Paul with genuine mojo and a professional setup that’s ready to work, this is a fantastic option at a great price. I can assure you, if this becomes your new axe, you will not be disappointed!

This Epiphone Les Paul Standard 60s “Inspired by Gibson” in a stunning Iced Tea Burst is a fantastic example of the newer generation of Epiphone guitars, designed with vintage-accurate specifications and that unmistakable classic Les Paul feel.

The Les Paul is, of course, one of the most iconic guitars in the world, used by countless guitar heroes over the years. This particular example was made in August 2023 at the Qingdao factory in China and presents in exceptional condition, clearly having been very well looked after.

Part of Epiphone’s hugely successful “Inspired by Gibson” range, these models were created to bring the look, feel and tone of vintage Les Pauls to a more accessible price point. You get all the key ingredients here, a mahogany body paired with a maple cap for that classic combination of warmth, punch and top-end clarity, delivering the unmistakable Les Paul sound.

Every so often there is a guitar that I work on in the Sosbro Guitar Co. workshop that I think to myself, wow, that feels really great in the hand, it sounds great and looks stunning, this one is it! In my opinion, this is the absolute dogs b$£locks of the current Epiphone stock! It could be that I personally love this darker sunburst paired with a fretboard wood that is also darker than usual, or it could just be that unmistakable Les Paul sound, coupled with a nice, comfortable low action.

This guitar is fitted with Epiphone USA-designed ProBucker humbuckers, with a ProBucker 2 in the neck and a slightly hotter ProBucker 3 in the bridge. Together with CTS potentiometers and vintage-style wiring, this setup delivers rich, dynamic, touch-sensitive tones, from smooth, warm cleans to biting, articulate lead sounds. It’s a very responsive guitar that feels alive in the hands.

The guitar features a Kalamazoo-style headstock, Grover tuners, Graph Tech nut, and Epiphone’s LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece, all contributing to excellent tuning stability, sustain and reliability.

Condition-wise, this is in almost perfect condition. There is a very slight dent (less than 4mm by 3mm) located on the front side by the low E string bridge screw. It is almost completely smooth to the feel and could easily be mistaken for a natural wood knot. There are also a few minor marks on the bridge pickup cover where the previous owner had temporarily removed it, these are easily overlooked unless you are actively looking for them. Otherwise, it just has the usual very light swirl marks of a guitar that has been well looked after but very much enjoyed. All of these have been shown as clearly as possible in the pictures and video and highlighted under direct light.

The guitar has had a full professional setup, including cleaning of all parts, fretboard conditioning, pots & switch cleaning, and has been restrung with a fresh set of D’Addario XL Nickel Wound strings (9–42 gauge). It plays beautifully with a comfortable low action.

I have sold a large number of Epiphone and Gibson guitars over the years, and the “Inspired by Gibson” models are some of the best Epiphones produced in terms of build quality, feel and vintage-correct specifications.

Other than the very minor cosmetic signs mentioned above, this is a superb example that deserves to continue to be played and enjoyed.
