Most production guitars have been built using reasonable quality components (and in some cases inferior, cheap components) but if you want to get the very best out of your guitar, surely then manufacturers should be using the best quality parts available on the market. Upgrading your guitars electronics is a cost-effective way of vastly improving your guitar’s sound and ability to shape your tone.
1950s Les Paul wiring differs from modern wiring primarily in how the tone pots are connected to the volume pots. In 50s wiring, the tone pots are connected to the output of the volume pots, whereas in modern wiring, they are connected to the input of the volume pots. This difference impacts the interaction between the volume and tone controls, affecting the overall tone and how it changes when the volume is rolled back. 1950’s wiring will give you a brighter, more dynamic tone and more interactive controls.
This upgrade has been built using very high-quality components.

2 x New Vintage RS GuitarCap .022 Paper and Oil
Solid 20 AWG tinned wire

CTS Premium 500k CG Short Split Shaft Pot 5% + – Tolerance
These US pots have been made to custom specs for a high-end guitar parts supplier in the UK. They feature a solid brass thread and shaft on a Bakelite base plate with a lower turning torque for the right balance between a smoother response and some resistance.

Manufactured to RS specs, these hand-made 100v caps have a rich vintage tone, while still retaining open top-end clarity. Hand-wound on 50’s-era machines, the new RS Vintage GuitarCaps use vintage-correct Kraft paper, solid military-spec construction and tinned 20AWG leads for easy soldering
